Q: What products will Intuit no longer be selling and what is the effective date?

Intuit has made a decision that after July 31, 2024, it will no longer be selling new subscriptions to U.S. subscribers of the following products:

  • QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus
  • QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus
  • QuickBooks Desktop Mac Plus
  • QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll

Existing subscribers are not impacted by this change. Existing QuickBooks Desktop Plus and Desktop Payroll subscribers can continue to renew their subscriptions after July 31, 2024*. We will continue to provide security updates, product updates, and support for existing subscribers.

QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise products are also not impacted by this change and customers can continue to purchase Enterprise subscriptions after July 31, 2024.

Yes, you can renew your suspended QuickBooks Desktop Plus subscription. For any billing or payment issues, you would have been notified via email and Intuit provides a grace period of 30 days to renew after the final notice has been sent out. 

Q: Is QuickBooks Enterprise affected by this change?

No. QuickBooks Enterprise is not affected by QuickBooks Desktop announcement for new customers after July 31, 2024. New Enterprise customers can continue to purchase QuickBooks Enterprise subscriptions from phone sales agents and online after July 31, 2024. Existing Enterprise customers are also not affected by this announcement and can continue to renew their subscriptions upon their renewal dates.

This includes QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, QuickBooks Desktop Payments, and online bank feeds. Unsupported versions also don’t receive the latest critical security patches and updates.  

We encourage customers on standalone QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier or Mac versions 2021 and older to consider moving to QuickBooks Online where you will always be on the most current version and for more efficient workflows and the flexibility to work from anywhere, so you can spend less time at the office and get more done.
