It has been announced by Microsoft that Windows 7 will be going to end-of-life which means after 01/14/2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates to computers running Windows 7.

This will leave your computer susceptible to ransomware, viruses, and hackers which is a huge risk.

What does end of support mean?

When Windows 7 reaches end of support on January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide the following:

  1. Technical support for any issues
  2. Software updates
  3. Security updates or fixes

While you could continue to use your PC running Windows 7, without continued software and security updates, it will be at greater risk for viruses and malware.

The computers will continue to function after 01/14/2020 but this will leave your computers vulnerable to security threats and will make you non-compliant for your industries regulations, i.e., HIPAA and HITECH; FFIEC; PCI DSS.   Using the computers after this date will leave you and your business open for vulnerabilities and compliance issues.

Going forward, the best way for you to stay secure is on Windows 10 / Windows 11. And the best way to experience Windows 10 is on a new PC. While it is possible to install Windows 10 or Windows 11 on your older device, it is not recommended.

The good news is we have solutions for this.
  1. Replacement: If your computer is older, we have some very nice replacement computers.  Contact us to get pricing information.
  2. Upgrade: If your computer is newer, we can check and upgrade the operating system from Windows 7 to Windows 10 / Windows 11.
